Golfer Rights and Responsibilities
Each golfer with a valid Polish Golf Association handicap card should be aware of their rights and responsibilities regarding maintaining their handicap. This article provides essential information for every player.
The player is responsible for maintaining and updating their handicap by regularly submitting their scores.
A golfer with a Polish Golf Association handicap should:
- Act fairly and in accordance with the Handicap Rules.
- Always aim for the best possible score on each hole.
- Submit scores immediately after completing the round and before midnight local time.
- Submit scores to reflect their true skill level.
- Play by the Rules of Golf.
- Confirm scores obtained by other players.
How and where to report scores?
Results can be reported via the golfer’s account on the website www.pzgolf.pl. In case of any problems, the result can also be reported via the reception of the parent club.
When can a round be used for handicap purposes?
A round must follow the Rules of Golf, with the following exceptions:
Tournaments
If a player is disqualified but gained no significant point advantage, the score can still be counted for handicap purposes. Otherwise, the tournament disqualification invalidates the score for handicap purposes. The final decision is made by the Committee.
Non-tournament play
Scores from rounds outside of official tournaments will not count if the player breaks the Rules of Golf or intentionally ignores penalties. However, scores may count if a player follows a Local Rule, even if not officially adopted by the Committee.
Modelowa Reguła Lokalna
Jeżeli gracz postępuje zgodnie z postanowieniem Modelowej Reguły Lokalnej, nawet jeśli Komitet odpowiedzialny za pole nie przyjął tej reguły, wynik może być zakwalifikowany do celów handicapowych. Dotyczy to także sytuacji, kiedy gracz postępuje niezgodnie Modelową Regułą Lokalna wprowadzoną przez Komitet.Przykład sytuacji związanych z Modelowymi Regułami Lokalnymi, kiedy wynik może być użyty do celów handicapowych:
- gracz postępował zgodnie z alternatywną opcją dla procedury uwolnienia uderzenia i odległości (Modelowa Reguła Lokalna E-5), mimo, że nie obowiązywała Reguła Lokalna, która o tym stanowi albo,
- gracz używał urządzenia do pomiaru odległości, mimo że obowiązywała Reguła Lokalna (Modelowa Reguła Lokalna G-5) zabraniającą jego używania.
18 or 9 Holes
For an 18-hole round to count for handicap purposes, all 18 holes must be played. If only 9–17 holes are played, the score from 9 holes should be submitted, and the rest disregarded.
